Is It Okay to take Zero honors or AP classes Junior Year ?? ?
I REALLY want to get into Pace University's Honors program. In order to qualify to get into the program, I need to get a 3.8 gpa UNWEIGHTED in my Junior year of highschool in order to average out qualifying scores. So only way I can achieve a 3.8 gpa unweighted by the end of junior year, is to take all academic classes junior year and do very well in them. My weighted gpa wont count towards qualifying (I called and asked them).
So would it look really bad that I took zero honors or AP classes Junior year???
I am going to take 4 AP classes Senior year, I have taken 1 honors class so far, and I am president of a club, 300+ volenteering hours, and part of many more clubs, and i have a scubadiving certification.

Yes, it would look bad. Not only are you taking a big risk that your first semester senior year (since that's all Pace will see) will be any better, you're applying to an honors program. If the only way you can keep your grades up is to take non-honors courses, what makes you think you're going to be able to handle that workload when you get there? And why would they take a chance on you when they've got applicants who've proven they can?

If you have only taken one honors class so far, how do you know you can handle 4 APs Senior year? I would advise taking one or two APs at the absolute maximum to prove to colleges and yourself you can handle a heavy courseload. One AP isn't really that bad-- it's just more studying.
