Need help. Have a question about a court date? 10 points!!!?

I got charged with marijuana possession and I have a court date scheduled next month. The problem is that I'm illegally living and working in the US. I hired a lawyer and he didn't asked me any question about my immigration status. If I go to court, will I get caught and get deported? I live in Fort Worth, TX

Don't show up for court and they will issue a warrant for your arrest. The next time they pick you up, they will run your prints and ICE will come to get you for deportation. There is also a good chance when you go to court, ICE will pick you up there.

I guess your lawyer will be surprised when they deport you. Is he a immigration or criminal lawyer, same thing.

You'll be convicted of a crime, and that's when ICE will get busy and detain you in order to deport you.

There's a few things you can't do, and more so if you are illegal:

    1) murder

    2) rape, including statutory rape

    3) drugs

    4) domestic violence

    5) prostitution/pimping

    6) gun violations.

All of these are sure fire deportations, even for Green Card holders.

    We can only hope so.

You are here illegally, that alone is enough to deport you. Add a drug charge onto that and you have a very good chance at being deported.

    Chances are pretty high.
