If I fail a class in high school,do I have to retake it?

I'm a freshman and I failed Spanish last semester(well more like I failed half of it and was luckily removed from the class) and I'm bound to fail geography this semester...

Do I have to retake them in order to graduate?

Update:

@Jenna-Neither are required classes to graduate...geography is the only 1 with credits I need but I was going to take another class for those credits anyways...

Whether you have to re-take a class if you fail or not depend on if it is a required class for graduation. If you need that class to graduate from high school you have to retake if you've failed. The only way around this (generally) is to be 'exempted' from that class. Basically, that means you get the school to say you are an exception and can duck out of that class. Usually students on specialized learning programs get exempted from certain classes they have a lot of trouble with.

Go to your Guidance Office and figure out what exactly is required of you for graduation. That is where you will find your most reliable answer.

    Good Luck :)

That's something you should talk to your guidance counselor about. I think most schools require a geography credit. If this is the case, yes you have to retake it, or you could ask about alternatives, like a credit recovery program.

you could no longer retake a variety you had freshman 12 months on your senior 12 months. Like suggested in the previous, that does no longer provide you a 4.0 besides. the only way you may get a 4.0 is that in case you talk to your counselor approximately getting you into some greater credit or college credit classes that circulate previous the highschool requirement.. it incredibly is how human beings get approximately 4.0s in severe college.

Don't fail any classes if you want to get to a good college and you have to retake it.

Edit :Don't try to fail a class because it will mess your gpa for 4 years and unless you work really hard it won't go up easily.
