Why aren't people happy unless they are making some kind of noise?

You aren't the only one. I'm just like you. I hate all the cacophonous noise in society. Like the blare of cars and truck engines. To peoples loudmouth voices. Especially the people who scream, yell, shriek and laugh really loudly in public, knowing full well that there are plenty of people around them who have basically no idea what they are talking about. I agree totally with you that its very inconsiderate.....but these people are clearly living in a very different world than you and I......one theory I have is that they are heavily brainwashed by MTV and whatnot.....and basically full of stupid and annoying ideas....

I have my parents house to myself for the week, and I am heavily enjoying the silence....It's wonderful. Hopefully someday I will find a permanent place to live that is always silent unless i want it to be otherwise, and hopefully you will too. There's no denying that we need it.

Oh Boy! This question hit home for me because I know exactly how you feel. I have some colleagues who love to make unnecessary noise as they're walking around the office. Some make a popping noise with their lips, others wear click-clacking shoes and one particular person loves to click her ball point pen (out of boredom???). It gets annoying. Especially if you're trying to concentrate. I don't know why some people are like this. Sometimes I wonder if they even realize that they're making the noise and annoying the people around them???
