Can my mom press charges on my boyfriend?

So I'm 17, I'm gay, n my boyfriend is 18. We haven't done anything and my mom says she'll press charges just because she doesn't accept him or me. Also since im 17 and can legally move out in the state of texas, could she do anything to bring me back? I really just need to get away from here.

yews she can press charges but it will be a waste of time since nothing will or can be done about you dating a person she doesn't like'

they could but simnce your 17 not much will be done to force you back and if your like a couple months of being 18 nothing at all because it is still a proces to get the paper work done

my sister did the same thing at 17 and nothing was done to force her back home

No, even in Texas it's not against the law to be gay.

And while you might be able to move out at 17, you can't get a job or an apartment without your mom's consent, so keep that in mind.

    1. You can not move out until you are an "Adult" which is 18.

    2. Until you are 18 she can get a restraining order agents your BF. Why not just wait a few months and then move out?

She can't charge him with anything since he hasn't broken a law.

Tell your mother that "Mommy doesn't approve of the boyfriend" is not a crime under Texas state law.

Without being able to prove any sexual activity there isn't a damned thing she can do. Heck.. for that matter even if you were a girl and were pregnant by some guy there is very little she could do. (that happens all the damn time doesn't it?)

doubtful it would succeed, but texas might have some old outdated laws. I wouldn't suggest you run away. Just wait one freaking year. YOu are young so you thinkit's an eternity, but it isn't

  • Until you are 18, your mother owns you. She controls who you see, where you go, what you do. If she orders him to stay away, she can enforce it with a court order if necessary.

No, what you need my friend is to find a girlfriend.
