What kind of clothes iron do you have...?

About 2 years ago I purchased a back & decker iron. I know it was refurbished, (it said so on the box).

But within a few weeks of using it, the metal bottom part of it became brunt and blackish. I still use almost daily. But I'm not impressed with it at all.

I'm in need of a good iron, I would love a steam iron, but I like the hand held ones and those seem to be pricey. I use my iron daily, so it has to be durable.

I don't plan on spending too much, but it seems be to the pricey ones are the better ones.

What kind do you own or recommend? How often do you iron?

Thanks for sharing :)

Update:

LOL@ Desmeran. Thanks for the laugh :)

Which dress or work clothes that I'm constantly ironing.

I have an Oreck iron which was a bonus gift when I purchased the vacuum cleaner. It a great steam iron. Black and Decker makes crap appliances...try Sunbeam or G.E..

Black and Decker is usually a decent brand.

Are you spraying anything on your clothes? Because things like spray starch are usually what build up on the iron and turn it ugly.

I just go to Walmart and buy the least expensive iron they have that has a teflon coating and an automatic turn off (since I have had to turn around and drive home more than once to make sure I turned it off).

Rayon and linen often need to be ironed. Linen wrinkles no matter what.

When I was working I usually ironed whatever blouse I was wearing that day. I haven't ironed anything in the last year. :o)

I don't even have one. I never had a need to iron anything. All my clothes are fine just taken from the dryer and hung up or folded. What kind of things need ironed I was always curious? I only buy cotton does it not need ironing?

An Iron-unfastened thank you to get wrinkles out of clothing is throwing them in dryer on my very own with a impartial coloration moist washcloth. they won't be thoroughly wrinkle unfastened, yet there is fairly a dramatic exchange

If you want a quality iron then invest. I purchased my iron just over 3 years ago now, and it hasn;t let me down. Morphy Richards.

    I iron every week.

I use a spray bottle with water/fabric softener mix, and the dryer.
