What kind of art is hanging on your bedroom walls?

I am curious as to what you surround yourself with in your bedroom sanctuary?. Do you decorate your bedroom? Do you not bother? Why did you choose the decorations you now have?

At the moment it's only one miniature oil painting. I painted it, and it's a scene of the back yard of a woman I dearly loved. She helped to raise me. She had the most wonderful philosophy. Sometimes when I have a problem I say to myself (or maybe even my husband) "What would Anna do?" Oh, yes - I have another painting on the wall that I did. It's an old home with trees and lots of shrubs.

It's ridiculous, but I'm 22 and I have paintings of Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy and Rainbow Brite on my wall. My mom loved art and she painted the mural when my older sister was born, but since then she had a change of heart and despises anything to do with art.

I'm an animator and a freelance illustrator, so I keep them there to remind me of the time she loved to draw. I even touch them up every couple of years!

Other than that I have no posters or other artwork.

well i used to decorate my room, but now i just feel depressed that i still live with my mom and usually my room is messy.. i have a framed image i bought from an art show, a pic i bought on the street in nyc, of the city, a map of the u.s., the waiver from when i got my first tattoo, a "we can do it" rosie the riveter poster, a pic of a painting of venice from a magazine, a black and white pic of some old houses from a nearby city, and a "the used" hankercheif strung up. I used to have some of my "art", but i got frustrated about my limited creativity and ripped them off of the wall.

A framed antique map of Africa, a large framed print of a Great Blue Heron, and a funny mini-street sign that has a moose and bear paddling a canoe and says "Next 5 km".

The map is because I dream of what wild Africa must have been like, before white people arrived there and ****** it up.

I have a few autographed posters, posters I've gotten at concerts, fairs, movies etc. Also ones I take out of magazines. I have little plaques/pictures with Bible verses, saints, etc on them, a caricature, a painting I got on a vacation, bulletin boards with tags, pictures, and movie tickets, stickers, and stuff like that pinned on them, and then I put pictures on my mirror too...basically I put up as much random crap as possible wherever I can.

Most things I guess I have up to remind me of good times or things I like that inspire me.
