Eviction on court records but not on credit report?
I was denied an application to a rental property. They said there was an eviction on my record. I was never notified of anything prior to this.
I PULLED MY CREDIT REPORT from ALL 3 CREDIT BUREAUS: nothing about an eviction.
I see from the credit enquiries that they used a company called SafeRent to create a report for them. I'm assuming SafeRent pulled the eviction from the county records? Is there a way to contest this?
I was never evicted. I never received a summons or subpoena or anything like that.
I did leave without giving notice, which was inconsiderate and irresponsible

CoreLogic SafeRent is a CRA that deals with renters data. Since they are classified as a CRA (like Experian, etc.), then you have the right to request a free FACTA copy of your report from them.
If the application denial listed them as the report that was pulled and from which your denial was based on then there should be contact information in the denial letter. Call or write the contact info to request a free copy of your report.
If the company 'claimed' they got the info from one of the other CRA's, which doesn't show it on the report, then you can show the company a copy of the report they (illegally) 'claimed' to use and prove to them that it's not listed. Then ask for a reconsideration on the denial.
Whether they used SafeRent or not, you can get your free yearly report from them and look it over. If there actually was no eviction then you have the right to dispute that listing.

They didn't run a regular credit check but got the info from SafeRent who in turn got it from the court records. Since the information is true it does not matter how and where they got the information from. Court records are open to the public and if somebody wants to go through the trouble to look it up they can verify that information.
Just because the landlord didn't bother to report it to the credit bureaus does not mean you have no eviction on record. There is still the court records and they count.
