Why do subwoofers sound different through videos? Will choose best answer.?

I'm in need of an explanation of why it sounds like as if it was an internal malfunction when watching it through video. Sounds totally normal when hearing in person though.

The mics used in most video cameras are simple diaphragm mics. The easiest way to describe them is to say they are a speaker in reverse. The diaphragm Vibrates when sound waves hit it. Loud bass causes the diaphragm to bottom out and causes distortion.

You are filtering the sound through the sound system in the video recorder and video player - microphones, amplifiers and speakers. Unless they are better quality and have better range than the original subs, then of course it sounds worse.

because video cameras cant pick up all the bass so it will sound funny
