Will my corned beef turn out ok if I cook in on high?

I have a 1.89 lb corned beef brisket. Can I cook it in the crock pot on high or will it turn out tough? Here is the recipe I was going to use, but modify since my brisket isn't as big:

http://allrecipes.com/recipe/corned-beef-and-cabba...

Any suggestions and tips would be great. And if anyone wants to share there recipe that would be great! Thanks :)

Update:

I want to cook it on high because I would like to make it tomorrow after work. I get off at 2pm and by the time it is all in the crock it will be about 3. I was hopping to only cook it for about 4 hours so we could have dinner at a decent time. But if it is best on low I guess I could do it Saturday on my day off...

Low & slow is the way to go.

My book says 10 hours on low for 3 lbs.

Layer thick sliced onions on bottom.

Add corned beef brisket & spices.

    Cover with potatoes & carrots.

Pour in 1 cup of water.

Why not start it before you go to work.

When you get home, boil cabbage separately.

Corned beef has to be cooked forever, whether you boil it, do it in the oven or a slow cooker.( I have a Rival slow cooker that sounds like the one you have, and I love it!) The time is going to vary a bit, depending on the size of the corned beef you have, but for a 2-3 lb one, I put it in the crock pot, be sure to sprinkle the pack of pickling spices over it, put just enough water in the slow cooker to cover the piece of corned beef, and put it on high, for 6-8 hrs. If the meat doesn't flake easily with a fork, it's not done. Leave it in another hour or so.

4 hours isn't long enough, and YES you should cook it on low. The day before you want to serve it put it in the crock pot before you go to bed, then in the morning remove the crock and put it in the fridge. Midnight until 6 AM.

So, when you get home from work at 3, get it out of the fridge and put it on low for 4 hours to reheat it.

Always cook any kind of meat on low in the crockpot, you can put it in the crockpot in the morning before you go to work and it should be done by the time you get home..if you cook it on high it will get hard..=)
