When a politician says that he/she has their personal beliefs but those beliefs will not influence decisions?

Do you think he/she has any true convictions or are they wishy washy and will say anything to cover over what they really believe.

Personally, I wish politicians would share his deepest convictions and assure that those convictions would be the basis of every decision he makes in or out of elected office

I have many personal beliefs that I would not hold you to (or anyone else). If you are an adult you have the right to do with your life what you wish to do with your life (within obvious limitations...such as not murdering others, outright theft, and like kind things). I believe in personal liberty (although that does NOT mean that I am for government approval or endorsement of all things under the sun....simply that some things...in fact the FAR FAR MAJORITY of things...are not the business of government).

I have to say however....that the problem is not so much that politicians say they will not do a thing and then stick to it....rather the problem is that they say they will not do a thing and then do it anyways (which is the proven and well demonstrated case with Obama....and I believe will be the case with Santorum). I support Paul but will accept Romney at this point for the nomination. I won't vote for Obama or Santorum (will vote Libertarian Party if that is the match up).

NO, but I doubt any politician running for high office has deep personal beliefs because they system eliminates people who do before they get that far

Theres a difference between having beliefs and a moral compass - compared to using the government as a weapon to force others to live by your beliefs.

That is impossible. Think hard on this.

Don't our religious beliefs affect our political stances/decisions?

    I agree with you.

Why does Santorum work so hard to alienate the perverts?

Doesn't he realize that the perverts vote -- just like everybody else?

    It worked for Kennedy

Box, think about it, what they say is different to what they think and do.
