    Julius Ceaser

Scipio Africanus (since you say successful he beats Hannibal)

    Alexander the Great

    Mountbatten

    Miltiades

    Napoleon

    Wellington

    Gengis Kahn

Edit Hey Nial I'm related to Micheal Collins!

    Cyrus the Great

    Ramesses II

    Georgy Zhukov

    Patton

    Eisenhower

    MacArthur

    Semyon Timoshenko

    Mao Zedong

    Charles Portal

    Nimitz

    William Sherman

    Ulysses Grant

    Robert E. Lee

How do you define "most successful" Minimal losses really isn't a way to gauge "best." Sending troops to storm Normandy Beach resulted in huge losses but ultimately helped turn the war.

Victory isn't an indicator either. There are some really good generals out there who ultimately lost. Napoleon Bonaparte being one of them. George Washington came close to losing.

But here is my list of the top 5, that I know of. There may obviously be more and the list is subjective but here it goes.

    1) Han Xin

    2) George Washington

    3)Napoleon Bonaparte

    4) Julius Caesar

    5) Khalid bin al Walid

IDK who experts say, but as a novice with limited knowledge I would say Gaias Julius, Sun Tzu, Fredrick the Great, Adolf Hitler, Alexander the Great, etc.
