Atheists: Would you ever date or marry a non-atheist?

I never would because I am so put off by all religions. I am so thankful that my husband became an atheist shortly after we met.

No way. Not only would it put me off, I could not respect anyone with such a delusional mindset and worldview.

Well I would. And I'm sure many Atheists would. I'm not marrying the person's belief or lack of, I'm marrying that person. And I could really care less what they believe or don't believe. I'm sure that will come up eventually but oh well. It's something that person and I will have to overcome.

I'm an atheist (no belief in any form of supernatural life). I would date/marry a non-atheist. There's *PLENTY* of moderate, reasonable religious people .... they are not all like the many fundamentalist nut cases here.

its funny how here everyone seems really accepting, and in the "Christians, what would you do if you married an atheist" its all people saying " I would never marry an atheist".

There is a young lady on twitter, always bleating on about God and Love. I can't get past how much I'd like to **** her and *** on her face. I never tell her of course.

I did, my love for this woman was not based in beliefs but in who and what she was. My continuing to love her is base in who and what she has become.

She chose me as I chose her. While we spend considerable time together we also have our own lives.

Her beliefs do not make her less just as my dis beliefs do not make me less.

It is the shallow selfish person who will let their beliefs or non beliefs dictate who they love. Sometimes one just falls in love and can't help it. What would you do walk away from what could be the most meaningful relationship of your life?

    Think about it!

I have in the past. I married an atheist, though.

Yes. As long as there is mutual respect, I would. What does it mean to me if they believe in Thor or Crone or Allah as long as we love each other?

Kinda depends on the level of dogma they had pushed into them. Most the Christians I know are very mellow but a few are damn nasty.
