What do you like at a breakfast buffet?

ooo. Breakfast is my favorite meal.

I normally go to the omelette bar first because the line ups there are the longest.

Observe if there is a chef there . It has to be made fresh. Watch how he makes his omelettes. He has to be good in making two or three at a time in an organized sequence.. Watch his pans are they good quality, check his ingredients and whether or not they have enough variety. Cheapskate omelette stations dont have more than one cheese type ( cheapest is pizza variety cheddar). dont have shrimps either. Their chopped mushrooms will be dark brown and look wilted,

Good breakfast buffets will have an hot cereal section as well, with a choice of oatmeal, cream of wheat and include a selection of things to put into your hot cereal. Check for cream or homogenized milk, dried sultana raisins, dried cranberries, slivered almonds, brown granulated sugar and muesli, flaked bran etc.

The meat section should have CRISPY bacon, sausage links, or sausage patties, corned beef, slivered pork or chicken or beef.

Check the fruits, cantaloupes, melons, bananas, apples, pears, mandarin oranges, papayas.

Beside it should be the dairy -yougurts, cottage cheese, at least a couple of hard cheeses- gouda, swiss, edam, blue cheese, asiago, a few soft cheeses like Havarti, and Brie

Lastly , the baked goods. Toast is a given, muffins, pancakes, French toasts, waffles, butter and margarine

I have been to the golden corral and its not bad at all.

I didnt like Golden Corral for breakfast at all. The only thing I liked was the French toast and the polish sausage. Everything was either really bland or overly salty! The biscuits and gravy was so salty, the eggs are from a carton, the pancakes are burnt, and the coffee was horrible!

Oooooooh tough decision. I will have to agree with you on this, Lunch & Dinner Buffet!!! All though a Breakfast Buffet is still quiet amazing.

I would imagine the usual fare. Scrambled eggs, muffins, bagels, fruit, pastries, toast, fried potatoes, juice, milk, tea and coffee.

Probably nothing too fancy since Golden Corral caters to the average Joe!

Piece of toast with a topping (I like honey or strawberry jam)

Sunny side up fried egg (made on request)

Chicken and herb sausages

Bacon pieces

Baked beans

Grilled tomatoes

I like a variety of things and get a bit of anything really.

I like sitting near the buffet watching the fatties mound up their plates. Biscuits and gravy, pancakes, eggs, sausage, bacon, potatoes. They'll all be dead soon.

I would get some bacon strips, with eggs benedict and some pancakes with syrup and butter on top, with a glass or orange juice !!

Waffles or Pancakes, hash browns, fruit, and eggs. I'll skip the meat I'm vegetarian.

Hash browns bacon and eggs. Stay away from pancakes...they fill u up.

Cheese Blintzes.

If I can't get this, I'd get couple of small pancakes, eggs, sausage, coffee, and maybe orange juice.
