Can you play Left 4 Dead without a headset?
I know that in multiplayer mode, you have to communicate with other players to strategize and whatnot. Would not having a headset and voice mic not be a good idea?

you dont need one, but it always recommended, and if you play versus or expert an win, use a mic, if not, you dont need

You cans still play L4D without a mic but sadly a bunch of little kids play and are happy with kicking people for any reason especially if you do not have a mic. If you play versus then having a mic would be a good idea but not required. Play with a friend or two so you don't get kick from a game for not having a mic. I bought a mic just for this game and I rarely use it.
