How do I hint to someone that I want to go to prom with them?
It's close guy friend, and I really do like him... I would just ask myself, but we go to different schools, and I have a date for my school prom (Our schools' proms are on different days). Complicated. Ayyy.

Well since he is your close guy friend, I would say before hinting about prom you should tell him how you feel. I think by keeping it inside it would bother you more if he didn't ask you, and even if he did it would be difficult because you have all these closed up feelings and it would be hard for you. Also if he decided to ask someone else, it would tear you apart no?
Since he is your close guy friend, you could always joke around with him saying "oh hey you should ask me to prom" or somehow talk about it with him and get his opinion about who he might want to ask.
