Most of us are glad to be alive, but many wonder, Is a genuinely happy life possible? What do you think?

Most people seem to act as if life owes them something, as if the universe was created just for their use.

Religion promotes this idea that some god somewhere created all of this for us. When life treats them badly, and it eventually will, they think this god is somehow testing them. Even that is a bit egocentric, the idea that a god out there not only created all of this for us, but creates little tests for us to prove our worthiness.

In reality, the universe owes us nothing. If the Earth blew up tomorrow, it wouldn't even be a large explosion compared to others that are happening all the time. We're on our own here, and it is amazing that we live at all.

Life is what you make of it. The only purpose to your life is that purpose you give it yourself.

Religion is superstition.

Glad I saw this question...:D ...I am seeing a lot of depression lately. I am also going through stress. So, just as you put it in your question, it is true; we are glad to be alive but with that said this world is completely out of balance. There is much wickedness and for an obvious reason that many may not realize. 2 Tim. 3:1-5 goes into how vicious peoples' attitude would be. In fact, the descriptions of critical times, hard to deal with, match up perfectly with our time period. The truth is, Satan the devil is allowed to rule the earth as mentioned in 1 John 5:19. He knows he has a very short time left before the battle of Armageddon. He knows that Jesus Christ will take victory in that battle. He wants to bring down as many as possible along with himself and the demon angels that sided with him. This is why it is imperative to take in Accurate Knowledge from the scriptures.

With all that said, if we are living according to God's standards, we can have a measure of peace in this world. How comforting to know that we can have a Worldwide Brotherhood of Jehovah's people to have Agape Love exercised genuinely. Not sure what genuinely happy is? But focus is key to being happy in a world filled with violence and sickness. If you are starving can u be happy, I think not. So our circumstances have a lot to do with our state of being happy. Most of us, on the other hand, have a lot to be thankful for or happy about. What we choose to focus on can definitely affect our happiness. Next, you have to consider what makes you happy? That is different for each of us.

If we are not striving to be completely happy now, we can certainly look towards being happy in a world where violence and sickness do not exist. Food enough for all. The kingdom we pray for in the Lord's prayer, promises that those conditions will be a reality! Then we can be "genuinely" happy, what God purposes for us!

You will probably only be interested in buying yet another Prada handbag or Niki trainers or whatever it is. **Sadly, the truth is that there are millions of people who are shallow boring & have no depth and are completely absorbed with celebrity culture & materialism how else could you explain the massive following BB has, or the even dumber sex in the city. Yes, a genuinely happy life is possible. It all boils down to your attitude in life. If you have an optimistic, positive, healthy, up, attitude, then you can be extremely happy in life. I'm proof. I have an optimistic, positive, healthy, up, attitude, and I love life, I'm very, very happy and I never want to die!!

The secret is learning to control your thoughts and attitude.

Like the saying goes Life isn't about the breaths you take it's about those MOMENTS that take your breath away. If happiness was given to all it would be a perfect world, however, reality only gives us moments of happiness that we hold onto to keep us striving for that next amazing moment.

Yes. You just have to think about thinks in a certain way. It's difficult to get to the point of thinking that way, but it's certainly possible. Especially if someone explains it to you.

I think yes, if you learn how to love yourself, others and your surroundings, then it might be possible, if you learn to accept that everything happens for a reason and you cannot change it. Hope that I have been helpful!:)

This earthly life is just a vapor as stated in the Bible. It's full of trials, temptations, illness, disease. Try to endure until we make it to the eternal life.
