My Friend's Guinea Pig Died when i had it.What to do?

I am so sorry, you tried to do something nice for your friend and the guinea pigs. Sadly you do did not know enough about animal behavior at that point and some times lessons are learned in such a harsh way as you know know.

The truth is always the best in the end. You have to bear you heart and soul to your friend and let him know how much this is eating you up, you never expected the predator to be your own dog. Guinea pigs are prey animals and have to be watched so closely, I am so sad you are going through this.

Offer to take your friend out and help him purchase a new guinea pig. Tell him you know how to chose a perfect guinea pig, I can tell you how to pick one so you get a great guinea pig every time.

Cup a guinea pig in your hands and hold it in front of your face. It should make eye contact with you, take a deep breath and relax into your hands and maintain eye contact for at least 3 to 4 minutes. This will be a guinea pig that will be very playful and also love to cuddle with you. It is not always easy to find a guinea pig that will meat this qualifications, I have at times had to wait as much as 2 months to find one, but when you do it is sooo worth the wait, I promise.

Why does the dog out their with the Guinea Pigs? I personally would not let my dogs near my rats, let alone a Guinea Pig, for the reason that just happen to your friends Guinea Pig.

Just tell your friend the truth, your friend might be mad, but at least you told the truth. You could always offer to buy your friend a new Guinea pig down the road. When he/she is done grieving over their lost.

Always make sure when you have your Guinea Pigs out that you don't have your dog(s) out at the same time. It will end up like this. Not every dog is like Sharky! (Those who don't know who Sharky is, look it up Sharky on Youtube! That Pitbull made me want one.)

just tell your friend, lying about it isn't going to make it better and also to all the people who say to go buy another one that looks the same, no guinea pig could ever be the same!!! but i do know how you feel my dog killed my guinea pigs babies... i didn't know such a little dog could do that to get to them

If you were a true friend, you wouldn't hide it from them. Even if they take it badly, a friend doesn't lie. Tell them what happened and hope for the best. :)
