Is someone over 40 too old to have a baby?
I am a female in my mid forties who is thinking about having a baby. I still am still getting my monthly cycle. I know that the task of parenthood at any age will be challenging but I believe that I am ready for it. What do your think

Im 24 and having my first baby this summer and I would like to have a few more yet but I dont plan on having any for atleast another 3-4 years yet. If things go my way I will hopefully have my last baby in my early 40's. Your not to old just do it asap. You are at a higher risk of disabilities so defo start taking prenatal vitamins now to lower the risks of spina bifida and neural tube defects and have all the checks your offered. Good luck with your ttc journey :)

My dad was born to a 43 year old and aside from him being quirky there is nothing wrong with him. That was in 1956 before they knew all the things they know now.
I would start by going to your doctor and discussing what you want to do. You will automatically be high risk but that isn't a bad thing necessarily when supervised by a doctor. Good luck and hope everything goes well.

I think it's fine, but unfortunately, the chances of natural conception in your 40s is very low, only about 5%. You'll almost certainly need fertility treatments, and may also require donor eggs. If it's something you want to look into, seek the advice of a fertility specialist up front, and also possibly a perinatologist.

If you are in good health, then why not? Talk to your doctor and discuss the best thing to do.
My sis-in-law gave birth when she was 41. I now have a healthy nephew. She might be couple years younger than you, but if you act soon and contact your doctor than I think you should be fine. I think you should at least try. Good Luck

You are at higher risks for genetic disorders such as Down's Syndrome. As long as you are healthy and get the go-ahead from your doctor I would do it, just make sure you do the extra screenings that are needed.
