Why do people cite blogs, opinion pieces and video commentaries on youtube as proof for their point?

These are not actual news stories with facts to back them up. They are opinions, rumors and rhetoric.

It is highly due to the new "acceptables" our society tolerates and lives by in modern times...white lies, lies and deception are all praised and thanked (appreciated). How most people live with lies throughout their days just to feel better about being an average person. We have Facebook, Twitter, and Youtube to help make the average "nobodies" into celebrities (in the public's eye only if you make over 500,000 hits that is).

To cut this quick since this can go on and on, people forgot how to live with facts and the truth. Therefore, finding sources that relay such things are foreign and scary to these individuals. This is one major reason we are seeing such major issues with mental health among students of various levels of education, soldiers and the average civilian.

Source(s): Personal observation and some credible research, but mostly that mysterious source called, "Common Sense."
