I have had episodes of sleep paralysis for years. I have them no matter what position I'm sleeping or if I'm in a bed or a couch. I know the voice you speak of but for me I never thought it was demonic. It is a masculine adult voice but it is of no one I know. After the voice says wake up or calls my name I feel it's presence afterwards. It is the strongest presence I have ever felt. I don't feel an evil just a strong presence.

I know longer have the paralysis after I wake up because I learned how to talk myself out of it. Tell yourself "the toes will gain feeling first, then it will move through the legs." And so forth until you have feeling all through your body.

I used to feel it touch me too, like try and shake me awake but I woke up one time extremely angry at that and yelling and the touching hadn't happened since. The only other odd thing that happened with the voice is it mimicked someone I know but I got angry at that and yelled again and that hasn't happened since either.

I don't know all the depths of sleep paralysis or why it happens but I don't think it is an evil doing and I accept that it happens to me and I know longer fear it. Wish I was more help to you.

I have had sleep paralysis many times and I'll tell you their is nothing to fear except fear itself. That is all their is to it. You get back what you put into something, the more you fear the more scared you become. The voice was your mind reacting to your fear with something else even scarier.

Lets say two people are watching a old scary movie. One becomes frightened while the other thinks it's old and not scary at all. One becomes frightened while the other remains calm, however they both share a common experience. It's all about perception.

I promise you i've been where you are and I'm sure your scared it will happen again. It either will or it will not but you must be prepared either way if you don't want it to be a negative experience. what you can do is learn how to relax yourself and calm down next time (meditation is a great practice for this). what this does is takes out the delusion factor so you will perceive it as it is and not have your mind telling you things that are not real.

Once i got to this point every time i had sleep paralysis i relaxed and calmed down. then it was just a matter of waiting it out, don't try to move too much at first because it might freak you out it must be done slowly. Sometimes i close my eyes and pretend I'm asleep again to trick myself into thinking everything is regular, then when i feel I'm ready i try to get up.

Many people say if you have an episode and then immediately return to sleep the odds for another occurrence is increased, so just stay awake for about 30 mins and then you may return to sleep if you want to decrease your chances of it happening again.

Many people don't realize it is a very spiritual experience if you allow it to be so. however you must first get past your fears, a challenge you must face. The universe is funny that way

This is common with sleep paralysis but it's still a scary experience. For some people there's silence but they get a crushing sensation like something is sitting on them. Once they wake up they recover quickly. Do you know if you were sleeping on your back both times? Try sleeping on your side and see if that reduces the frequency of sleep paralysis episodes.

I have never heard so much errant nonsense as I did when reading some of these answers. The 'voice' you heard is your sub conscious telling you to wake & change your position to avoid the paralysis. There are no demons this side of hell & no spirits who do such things.Spirits have no substance & there are no ghosts no matter what people claim.Ask your doctor if there are measures to prevent another episode, and make sure he is under 40 & in a big city.I don't know what hillbilly doctors would think of it,probably give you a magic potion, lol.

I had it happened to me and when i woke up I could not move at all. I could recognize everything in the room and i heard a evil demonic voice and i looked towards the side of my bed and there was a person standing there talking to me but me sounding like a Rottweiler trying to talk to me in another language very evil sounding. The face was kind tracing like moving like side to side very scary.... I swear i was up and it was a demon

Don't worry this will almost happen to anyone. They call it the dead was on top of you. I have heard many stories so similar to yours what happens is that you are half awake half asleep and so for your spirit is too far away from your body and some other spirit got on top of you and thats for you couldn't move. This can happen to anyone. alot of times you cant move and if you try really really hard most of the times you will see your body laying there. I wouldn't be worried. But if you really are try talking to someone that knows this kind of stuff. Or go to church and pray.

It could be a prank played by someone you know, or your mind playing tricks on you. The mind is a very influencial substance, and even more effective when subconcious.

Spirits sometimes do that but I don't know why.

But it doesn't mean the one that said it was a demon or evil.

The 2nd time you woke up would've been you woke before the rest of your body.
