what would be a lot of miles for a motorcycle?

1999 Honda rebel with 32,000 miles. I know about car miles but not sure about motorcycles.

That is an awful lot of miles for such a small bike! Even one that was maintained well and kept at lower speeds.

The smaller a bike is the harder it has to work, the harder it works the more wear n tear it gets in the process.

    32,000 miles on a 250 rebel is probably a lot like 80,000 on a 750

32,000 is not a lot of miles on a Honda cruiser...sport bikes are a different story. Honda motors especially are bullet proof, your only concerns should be checking if the brakes need rebuilt, carbs are clean, and no body has done any "custom" rewiring that always seems so common.

For a motorcycle of 500cc or less the average mileage is 500 miles or less per year of riding on the bike according to Kelly Blue Book. But I was putting 1000 miles a month on mine before I got hit by a car and it was totaled out. So as long as the bike was properly maintained it'll be a great bike for you to start your motorcycle life on. Live To Ride, Ride To Live my friend.

it depends on how well it was treated on those miles, 32,000 isn't that high for a well kept honda, but if it was laid down or maintenance was hit or miss be careful. have a trusted bike mechanic look it over.

Do you have any maintenance records for the bike? How often has the engine oil been changed? Mileage by itself is not the sole determining factor in longevity. Was the bike driven responsibly or was it abused on a regular basis? Many questions here.

Let's guess- somewhere between being a poor lawnmower replacement engine and a 250cc powered cruiser.

If maintained- 32,ooo is way cool, if NOT, way too not.
