Christians where was god in......?

The sad truth is that prayer really only makes people feel better about situations they can't control. It's the same argument people give when they aren't facing hard times and they see something horrible happen, they say "everything happens for a reason". But when your child is the one dying in front of you, what reason can you really give? And what about the reason for children who die only days after they were born? People claim that all humans are born for a reason, but that makes no sense to me. These children were born just to die in front of their parents and leave them to mourn? To say that it happened simply to make their parents stronger in some way is cruel and insensitive.

Much of the stuff in the bible I believe is stuff people put there because they wanted the faith to sound good. Why not join if you can get anything just by asking? Truth is, if there truly is a god out there, I imagine it hurts him/her/them to know they're expected to be perfect and in control all the time. It's no different from a parent trying to be perfect for their kid, I bet.

I honestly know that you won't understand. So, I'll explain it the easiest way: Faith. I know that I trust in God enough to admit that I do not know everything, and the things that I cannot explain, I accept through faith. There's enough evidence to support that there is a God for me to believe it. Here's an example: Just because we can't count to the highest number, does that mean it doesn't exist?

And with the whole milk jug thing: Just because you think you know the answer does not mean it's true. The difference it would make if someone prayed to a milk jug is that the milk jug CANNOT answer anything. God can. (Even if you refuse to accept it.)

And, forgive me for answering this with another question, but what exactly is your reason for asking this question? I mean, you apparently are completely dedicated to atheism, so it's not like you want to be convinced. So, what? You just wanted to waste your own time and other people's for your own pointless satisfaction?

People have written books about this question and we could go on forever. What is the purpose of prayer? Is it to get what I want? I may suggest it is to understand what is going on. Do you think if I pray more than someone else that God will give me whatever I want? IF I pray I get things. No I think it is so I gain wisdom about the thing that are going on in my life.

Where is God in this? God is right next to the parents giving them what they need to make it thru this bad situation.

A very brief answer.

God is still here. All because people chose to pray to God and God allowing the child to die does not mean God does not exist. Everyone will die at some point in time because we are all sinners and the wages of sin is death. This means that all of humanity will experience a physical death at some point in time. For proof of the God of Israel (the Christian God) please read below:

And the test of prophecy is being fulfilled right now by the world leaders discussing and making plans how on they, the leaders of the world, are able to unite the world through a global government and economy. This is written in the Bible in verse of Revelation 13:7 “And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.” and in Revelation 13:16-17 “And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.”.

Many have taken these verses out of their proper context and have become confused.

If you return the Matthew 7, you will see that Jesus says, "Or what man of you, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a serpent? If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!". The point of this verse is not to say that you will get whatever you want if you pray, but that you will get what you need. God does not give snakes or stones to his children, but only what is correct; and he knows much more than we do what is correct. In the situation that you describe, it appears to us that the best outcome would have been for the child to live, but the result of the child dying could have been the best outcome when you see the whole panorama of life placed in its eternal framework. }

The other verses seem to indicate that God will grant us our every wish, but read again carefully. Jesus was speaking to his disciples and he was criticizing them for their LACK OF FAITH. This can be easily seen if you just read all of Matthew 17:20 and also verse 19:

Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said, "Why could we not cast it out?"

He said to them, "Because of your little faith. For truly, I say to you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you."

If it was hard for those that walked with Jesus to have just a little faith, how hard do you think it is for the rest of us? All Christians must struggle to make sure that they have a relationship with God that is founded on true faith, otherwise we are just participating in a mental exercise. Faith is spiritual reality, it is not just simple belief. Faith transforms and gives evidence of the truth of God.

Finally, John 14 illustrates how faith changes the very shape of our desires: "I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing." By this, we see that faith makes us vehicles for Christ. When you were a Christian, did you look to serve yourself or to serve God? Were your desires Earthly or spiritual? Faith is a measuring stick for all Christians. I draws a line in the sand. Did you ever truly experience it?

Summary:

1) Faith is powerful, it transforms our will and it gives us power to accomplish the work of God.

2) Faith is difficult to come by, but we only need just a little.

3) Faith allows us to enter into a relationship with God in which he will give us what we need, not necessarily what we want.

i doubt you neer truly knew God when you said you used to believe in him, maybe you just went to church, if you truly follow God he proves his existance to you and it can no longer be possible to doubt it

by being a born again Christian and binding your sould with the light inside you, you become a new being in God. With a hightened conscience (to keep you out of mischief).

The traits of the Holy Spirtit are Inner Peace, Joy (stronger than happiness, usually determined as sustained happyness over a period of time), Ecstatic Bliss, Oneness, Fulfillment

FULFILLMENT (this is the most valuable thing in the world, despite what anyone says if you have fulfillment it surpasses everything............ think about it ...... when you are rich there is no amount that sates you, you just keep wanting more, its the same with everything else.... sex, your fav sport team wining whatever god you have put at the forefront of your life, you are decevied by your ego/devil into thinking this is what you want, but only leads to a soul that is hollowed by the empty wants of these over valued posessions/gods thought to be more than waht they are

the ultimate answer to this age old question is...GOD BANISHED US! what part of this do people not understand? god is like a parent or a teacher, a few mess up, everybody pays for it. since the begining of time we have dissapointed god time and time again. we are out here all on our own! quit thinking so close minded.

if you serve a milk jug, then you don't have much of a god. The milk jug can't answer with a yes, period.
