Verbal Harrasment from supervisor?

I share an office supervisor, he is on salary, and is constantly taking a day off/leaving early/ etc.

I don’t mind this at all, as it puts the staff under my supervision. (and they prefer it that way)

But when he is here, all I hear from him is how EVERYONE in this company is a 'bonehead'

He refers to the HR manager as 'mama' (because she is needy?)

Whenever he reads an email, all I hear is

"bob, you are an idiot"

"oh steve shut the **** up"

Etc

Then he goes on & tells me why they are dump as if I am suppose to agree with him?

he is hard to talk to because he always interrupts!!!

A girl here got some great deals on purchasing product here for office, and I heard him say "wow, who is she blowing?"

Delivery guys are a bit fed up with him, so are employees from other departments

Is there anything I can do about this?

Do I go to CEO? HR?

Update:

Quick addition:

He is about 55, reliving his 'zepplin' days. I often catch him on you tube, or looking at guitars. He socializes with some kid here about amps & different sounds, of course his is far superior. And he compares everything to his last job (10 years back)

I am a 29 year old male, and I am tired of sitting around quietly.

Also, my last job 5 years back, resulted in a lawsuit where I was the victim of sexual assault.

We never went to court but company settled in mediation to avoid credibility on their part.

So I would rather not take the 'legal action' route, if possible

This isn't "verbal harassment." The guy is an a$$ with a big mouth. There is nothing illegal about being an a$$ and there is no basis to take any legal action.

Did you ever watch NYPD Blue? (Catch the re-runs on Amazon Kindle Fire, if not.) There is an absolutely great scene between characters Danny Sorenson and Gibson in which Gibson starts ranting and raving about one of their co-workers. And Sorenson just firmly shuts it down and says he doesn't listen to that kind of crap. By listening to him, you have tacitly encouraged his smack talking. If you want to shut him down, then you need to IMMEDIATELY interject and let him know that you don't want to hear it. And if he continues, simply walk away.

Harassment in many circumstances skill which you're singled out of a team the two for sexual favors or discrimination of a few variety. i might say it relies upon on what he's yelling and once you're being singled out of the team. If he in many circumstances behaves nasty in direction of his underlings then no, he in all danger won't get into plenty concern and is in all danger seen a "no longer common headed" individual. besides the undeniable fact that whilst you're being singled out, degraded, and according to danger poorly written comments, then confident, you ought to write on your HR branch and be advantageous to have evidence for it.
