aquarium snail food question?

I have a couple apple snails, 3 kuli loaches, and 2 tiny zebra dainos. in a 29 gallon aquarium. The kuli loach dont bother the snails.

My question is: instead of buying algae wafers for the snails can I just give them little pieces of cabbage or lettuce?

auto spell dosnt contain the word LOACH isnt that interesting.

They love canned green beans they will swarm to them and canned spinach, lettuce (tear the lettuce up a bit) and cooked carrots. They will also eat flake fish food and freeze dried brine shrimp.

    Source(s): I have 15 mystery snails.

you can feed them lettuce. I feed mine zucchini which the other fish don't really eat. I boil mine for about a minute, attach it to veggie clips and leave it in there for about 24 hours.
