iPod trouble: can you help?
Whenever I try to play music on my iPod (1st generation) it plays the song for about 3-5 seconds then it skips to the next song without me telling it what to do (or pushing any buttons for that matter). It then does this with the next song, and the next song, and the next song. It also doesn't even play the music. I hope it's not broken or anything bad like that. However, is there anything of which I can do in order to fix the thing?

if its an ipod touch it could be because you have shuffle on ( i am not sure if an ipod touch 1st gen. can have shuffle ) so you should go try turning it off.. this is how I turn mine on and off, but I have the newest one so it might not be the same and you should search up how for yours:
Setting > Music > you should see 'Shake to shuffle' and then you can turn it on and off
but thats for mine, other than that it's probably broken, only way you can fix it is go to a store where they will fix it, at an apple store they won't fix it in store, but they might fix it out of store, and ship away somewhere to get fixed.
Good Luck :)

I recall having some songs with this issue.. The MP3 files somehow got corrupted. Try add some fresh MP3s and see if it still happens. If it do, I would say its somewhat broken.. Not even Apple would decide to have such an option to go to next song after 5 sec.
