If pain threahold's an issue I'd suggest getting it somewhere fleshier, on muscle is even better. I got a lily on my ankle and it hurt like hell! But the spiderweb on my back was no problem!
If you do go for your wrist get it in a clear cursive font so it looks like a bracelet at first glance :)
