Star Q~ Shame on Sri Lanka for the way they played? What's your saying?

As a Sri Lankan i am ashamed of the way Sri lanka played yesterday and through out this Asia cup. Being the favorites to win or one of the favorites to win Sri lanka ended up losing all 3 games which is by far the worst performance by SL in the Asia cup history. Sl won the first Asia cup on 1986 even when we were minnows. And in all 10 previous Asia cups SL qualified for the finals every single time. We won 4 times, india 5 times and Pakistan once. But this time lost all games with not being even close to win one and ended up owned by Blangladesh who had the last laugh.

▼Our fielding was as poor as the way we fielded against India in the tied game in the CB series where Malinga and other fielders dropped 2 or 3 sitters! It’s as poor as Chandimal dropped 3 easy straight forward catches of the newly borned star Kholi in another match. It’s so poor like the way we fielded horribly dropping countless number of catches (mostly Malinga) against both India and Australia in that series and it was one of the major reasons we lost it from the position of winning and quite frankly it’s terrible as Pakistani fielders dropping Tendulkar 5 times!

SL will no more be a good fielding side. Back to the drawing boards like Pakistani fielding. It’s even worst than Pakis.

▼Out bowling especially the medium pacers were as poor as the way we bowled at the Indians in the Asia cup and Hobart game. We bowled too many half vollies and full tosses which allowed Kholi, Warner and Dhoni to tear our bowling apart and that helped in the 321 chase, Australia reaching 320 in all important first final and also for india to reach 300 against use in their match in this Asia cup where decent bowling could have kept them under 280. Oh yeah our bowling is helpless like Indian bowling against Bangladesh.

▼Batting was poor but should have to consider that we don’t have Mathews and the current batting order where Mahela, Dilie and Sanga bat at top 3 sucks. It sucks because it lacks the experience in the middle order. It is like Dhoni and Sachin opening the innings which never gonna happen! Good for their personal records but not good for the team..

So After all India can go home with their heads high bcz they defeated the two toughest teams(SL & PAK) in the Asia cup. They have a great NRR and too. You have to consider them as very unlucky not to be in the final. The stipulation of qualifing the final costed them from being in the final. Pakistan and Bangladesh have achieved better than expected. But SL has to go home with nothing as their worst Asia cup ever. Now I have a little doubt whether we can come at our usual standards against England at home!

Get ur thoughts and opinions in. But one thing. Just bcz a team lost a match there is no reason to call the match was fixed. Because let’s face it. If you call things in such manner then you have to accept Ind Pak match at WC 2011 should be clearly fixed where Pakistanis dropped 5 sitters of Sachin who are the only one stood tall while all the other Indian batsmen were struggling against Paki bowling and where Misbah waited to accelerate till the required rate climbing up to 15 and becoming unreachable. It’s kinda funny to see some fans calling the matches were fixed bcz they didn’t have the outcome in their favor. We all know that only 3 teams(Pak, India & South Africa) have involved in match fixing on a very few occasions in cricket history which had been legitimately proved and the involvers were punished..So neither that WC final nor any of this Asian cup games were fixed.

And this has nothing to with India considering voting against SL in UN. I saw some Lankans bringing this matter and calling SL lost deliberately to Bangladesh to eliminate India from the tournament. Leave politics, this is cricket. And it's more funny bcz Australia have already claimed that they gonna vote against Sri lanka. So I didn't see any Lankan wanting a revenge on Australia for that! Leave political matters it have no damn thing to do with cricket.
