How long does it take a lender to order an appraisal?
We sold our house by ourselves. The buyer has applied for a loan.
Based on our own experiences (we have purchased and sold about 17 times), the lender either for us or the buyers usually had an appraiser out the first week after the application process has started.
We gave him 20 days to remove the financing contigency. It is now the 15th day, and still no appraiser has come to the house. I am getting worried.
Are we worrying for nothing?

You should be worried. These were not even pre-approved buyers.
Honestly, you know that's a mistake.
Could it be that they are not qualifying for a mortgage?
I see it happen all the time.
