With the Saints coach suspended for the entire year?

does that mean he cannot participate in any team activity including spring training, team meetings, practices, etc?....same thing for the other coaches who were suspended for several games......how is the team going to prepare for the games, and who is going to step in as offensive/defensive coordinator?

Update:

Personally I think the entire team should have been suspended for part of the season, if not the whole season, or not allow them into the playoffs no matter their record......I mean that's just wrong to reward players for hurting another player. There are enough injuries as it is, and to give them money for it? That's just insane. what happened to good sportsmanship?

The Saints coach won't be able to do anything involving coaching in the NFL for an entire year. The team will just have to prepare for games with the tools that they already have. Pete Carmichael Jr. is the Offensive Coordinator, Steve Spagnuolo is the Defensive Coordinator. Too bad Drew Brees doesn't have the same decision making ability as Peyton Manning who ran the entire offense. Who knows what the Saints record will be in 2012?

First off as a Saints fan, I respect RG's decision. The punishment isn't based on the bounties. Goodell was poised to let it go with a slap on the wrist as long as the bounties stopped. The front office did nothing to stop it and lied to Goodell. Let's be clear, it wasn't dirty play, it was dirty business. I feel the punishment is fair in that respect. As an NFL fan, I find it ridiculous that the Saints get made an example of, while the Patriots cheated their way to two Super Bowls with minor punishment handed down. And yes the Pats did cheat. I feel this season will be a major test of the Saints organization. Drew Brees is a heck of a field general. I'll give Manning his due credit, but Brees plays just as big a role in the Saints' offense as Sean Payton. Business is business, and the business is done. Play ball, go Saints.

Sean Payton is suspended for the season effective April 1. The offesive coordinator will take over head coaching duties. The team I feel sorry for in this whole thing is the Rams, they hired Williams with no clue about this and now he is suspended indefinatly, he may never coach in the NFL again.

Yes, that means no participation at all and no pay. If you want to see a really severe penalty, just disobey this penalty after lieing for a year about bounty gate .... I bet RG would suspend him for life. Its the right thing to do, he'll think twice before doing illegal stuff like this again.

I think it means he is not eligible in any "cart-off" pools, or paying out any bounties
