They're both cancelled -- with cliffhanger final episodes, too, which REALLY sucks -- casualties of low ratings plus high production costs. Actually, production cost was probably more an issue with V, but I'm sure cost entered into the decision to cancel The Event.
There has been some talk about both V and The Event being picked up by cable networks to continue the story, but nothing's come of it, so I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for either of them to return.
Somewhat good news is that Morena Baccarin (who played Anna on V) has guest-starred in a couple of episodes of The Mentalist, and she's still SMOKIN' hot. :-) Sorry I don't have better news about those two series. :-(

Yes V was canceled it only ran for two seasons on ABC, from November 3, 2009 to March 15, 2011. The Event was also canceled on May 13, 2011.
