What is the difference in a diaper bag and a purse?
I have been shopping for about two or three days now looking for the perfect diaper bag and today it hit me that they all look like purses. Seriously, what's the difference? Do I actually need to go out and find a diaper bag or is it just as practical to use a large tote? (First time mom)
Yeah so I'm aware that you put diapers in the diaper bag. Oh man, so witty, and not at all helpful. The question is about the bag itself not what you put in them.

Diaper bags usually have a LOT more space and a LOT more pockets but some of them dont. I got one that looks like a purse but its bigger and has a bunch of pockets which I loveeeee. and I love that it looks like a purse! you dont have to have one, a lot of people say they hate them and theyre so stressful but I love them I couldnt live without one. although my son isnt born, I was a nanny and didnt go anywhere without the diaper bag. but anyways, thats really the only difference between them. you can get a large bag but it wont have as many compartments, but if youre ok with that then go for it! :)

Diaper bags usually have a fold out thing to use as a changing pad. It also has more pockets - totes usually only have one. The pockets are specialized for diapers, bottles, etc.
Try thrift stores. I was looking for a tote and found a nice, apparently unused diaper bag for a budget price.

There isn't really much of a difference, except a diaper bag is usually larger and has more compartments for various baby things. If you happen to find a large purse that works for you that you like using, then by all means go ahead and use it!

Change pad, pockets that are the perfect size for diapers and travel wipes. They also have hangers so you can hook them nicely to your stroller which is very nice if you are out shopping etc.
I really like my diaper bag. It helps me stay organized and know where everything is for a quick grab. I attached my change pad to my regular purse for quick trips out in case I need to change a stinky bum. For the most part though I just throw my wallet etc in the diaper bag.

A diaper bag you put baby stuff in. And a purse if stuff you need! I'd personally use both cuz what if the formula or bottle spill and it gets all over your tampons and money and whatever else you have.

It just allows you to be more organized. It has compartments for every individual baby item, i.e; bottles, diapers, wipes, toys, etc. Most of the time I put a bottle in my regular purse and run out of the house just because it's lighter and I don't like bulky items, plus a stroller has the same thing.

Not a lot to be honest. We've never ever used a changing bag, my wife just uses a normal handbag or i'll use my backpack (sometimes we've even just put it all in the pram basket). Changing bags have little pouches and some have bottle warmers, we've never seen these as important. Normal bags do the trick, personally I just think changing bags are a money making scheme.
