Switching MOS in DEP?

I had signed up for EOD, but some family members don't want me to take it. If I did switch I'd want to switch to 35M Human intelligence collector (I scored a 98 on the ASVAB so I'm good on test scores for literally anything). If I do switch how hard is 35M to get and how long do you think I'd have to wait? my ship date is pretty soon (I know I can't post the exact date because of security)

Update:

This is for the US Army by the way

    1) Do what you want, you are going to being doing it for four years or more. Your family will understand regardless of what you choose.

    2) In the DEP, it really is rather easy to change your job, granted the job you want is available.

3)Ask your recruiter this same question.

You have to talk to a recruiter but most likely you are aiming to high with an intel job in so little time why would you sign the contract if eod was not something you were looking for

So you signed 89D and you're letting family decide for you?

Aside from that - you can discuss things with your recruiter - they will tell you when a spot is available for the 35M contract - this would most likely postpone your ship date by a great deal.

in case you desire to alter your MOS ask your recruiter in case you are able to renegotiate your settlement for a distinctive MOS. do no longer threaten him, do no longer tell him "I won't deliver in case you do no longer substitute it" or any of that different stuff human beings could say. in case you in basic terms tell him you desire to alter it then he will in basic terms have you ever sign a form and forward it to his commander inquiring for the renegotiation. that's in comparison to he's going to loose credit for you in case you alter your interest, all you would be doing is giving him some hours removed from the workplace so he can %. you up on your reno. If that's authorized (that's impossible his commander will deny it) you will bypass back to MEPS and choose yet another interest you're qualified for. for the reason that your eyes are undesirable, you will no longer have as many judgements as maximum different human beings will. keep in mind that when you renegotiate you may desire to cut back or perhaps do away with any connect up bonus you got with your unique settlement. in the event that they haven't any jobs you have an pastime in you have the choice to maintain the unique interest you enlisted for and you are able to attempt to alter your interest returned later on on your profession. while you're serving you will ultimately take transport of the choice to get eye surgical operation (I have been given it back in 2004 for loose) and after the surgical operation you are able to properly be waiting to %. from extra jobs whilst that's time so you might reenlist.

Don't switch because of your family members: make your own decision!

    Peace.
