The equivalent capacitance of the capacitors shown in the figure is 9.23 micro farads.

    Start at the right side the 12 uF and 8.35 uF are in series and their equivalent capacitance is 4.924 uF.

    This equivalent capacitance is in parallel with the 4.25 uF is 9.174 uF

    The unknown capacitance C is in series with the 9.174 uF

    Their equivalent capacitance is 9.174C/( 9.174 + C)

    9.23 uF = 7.22 + 9.174C/( 9.174 + C)

    2.01 uF = 9.174C/( 9.174 + C)

    2.01(9.174 + C) = 9.174 C

    7.164C = 18.44

    C = 2.574 uF
