Favourite Concert Movie?
Today, I got a DVD of The Last Waltz today. I've had the soundtrack for ages but have never seen the concert itself yet.
BQ: Are there any soundtracks that you listened to before you saw the actual movie?

There are documentaries I like better, but for a film that is predominately concert footage I'll go with the Last Waltz. Celebration At Big Sur, Monterey Pop, and Woodstock are all a close second.
BA: Several of Les Blanks' documentaries. There are some I've never seen yet, even though I've had the soundtracks for 15 or 20 years.

My favorites are House Of Yes, Festival Express, Pink Floyd Live At Pompeii, and Rush - Time Machine and R30.
BQ: Led Zeppelin: The Song Remains The Same
BQ2: Pretty good. You should check out Festival Express. It features The Band, along with Janis Joplin, the Grateful Dead, Buddy Guy, Mashmakhan, and other bands. It was filmed in 1970, and the footage sat in someone's garage for over 30 years until it was finally released in 2004. They rented a train and travelled across Canada playing at different stops, and it includes some of Janis Joplin's last performances before she died.

I love The Last Waltz ~ and have owned several copies of it on both VHS and DVD. CD, too.
I'm trying to think of any soundtracks that I knew before the movie. Nirvana Unplugged. Love it, too.
My favorite concert movie.... Either The Last Waltz or Pink Floyd: Live at Pompeii. Or PULSE (also Pink Floyd)
