What is the correct battery for a 1935 Harley VL?
My WLA takes an H-2 battery but it doesn't fit the VL. What's the designation for the correct battery?
Who sells them on-line, if anyone?
NOT interested in a sealed gel cell.
Any info greatly appreciated.

That old a bike takes a 6V battery. But you don't need a battery for that bike, just a working magneto. That will supply all the power you need unless you're idling with the head light on.
Andy answered your question, but without a working magneto life will get interesting if you use your headlight and have a brake light. The originals didn't have any power accessories or tail lights or radio's or turn signals, none of that stuff, and you only used the headlight at night, never during the day.
Stops and turns were made using hand signals.
