Christian parents: Woudl you ever let your children watch "Death Note"?

I know that a lot of parents let their kids watch it, but other overprotective Christian parents (i mean it when i say that, because i've met them before) don't, because of the portrayal of Gods of Death, killeing people with a special notebook, etc.

So, would you let your children watch it, Christians?

I wouldn't allow if based upon the rating. My children are to young to watch these things.

I watched Death Note the anime and movies.

And actually the Shigigami or gods of death are from Shintoism. There is nothing wrong with exposing your children to other religions or cultures. The thing is if you keep them from learning about such things you are in fact letting them find out about such things on their own.

As Christian parent I educate my children in my faith, however I will not shelter them from the world. Do you know when you tell your child not do do something they do it anyway. It's because your placing restrictions upon them which causes them to want to disobey you. That is why our television and computer has parental controls. If we don't want them to watch or be exposed to something inappropriate at their age they have no means of access in our home. Now if they go to a friend's house and watch this stuff well we have no control over that. Just like when you send you child to school even though you refrain from using profanity, your child will learn if from school.

Both. My God was and always is/has been/will be God. He came to earth in the form of a baby. He grew as a child and died as a 33 year old man, was resurrected and is still God. I don't believe Jesus ever threw a temper tantrum. He is the only person to ever be without sin. Once a child reaches the age of accountability, even a temper tantrum is a sin (as it is in disobedience to a command in the Bible). Oh, and yes, He had parents (earthly and Heavenly) as well as earthly siblings. I know I'll get a lot of "thumbs down", but, you asked, I answered. So, there ya go.

Although I quite enjoyed it I was 16 when I first saw it and letting children younger than that is a mistake I think no matter what your religion is. IMHO of course but still
