IS there a communications system that is impervious to an EMP strike?

Update:

Please be serious. I'm looking for something that would work on long range. Also if possible include ways to prevent current systems from crashing.

    yes. several

    Human voice to human ear.

Typed or written words on paper.

Telegraph as it was first used, with batteries and clickers.

Old fashioned telephone with no electronics.

Very simple radio with spark coils for transmitter and diode detectors for receiver. (you may need some spare diodes)

edit: I am serious. You asked a vague question. What do you mean by "communications system"? obviously something different than I do. Eg your added requirement "long range'.

However, I will add one more to the list:

Radio's made from vacuum tubes only.

Two aluminum cans and a long piece of string.
