Roy Woods style of CACC?

it's a sport and martial art.

people used to die from neck cranks all the time in the time back in the day.

however it is only part of old fencing which had grappling, striking & weapons but as dueling in europe got more popular things got more competition oriented and some people focused on their grappling others striking and others weapons and eventually 3 distinct arts existed..

I have a fencing manual from george silver from 1605 which has a wrestling section that includes a punch to the face and a kick to the groin and a knee to the groin.

sports are just sparring of the martial art

Both, while technically all CACC Wrestling falls into the category of combat sport I say it can be both , especially if you've hear the war stories from places like the Snake Pit in England it makes CACC Wrestlers seem more vicious than most other martial artists, perhaps that was one of the reasons the art form went into decline for a while
