how do I control the "intent" in my attacks? I know it's important but how do I hold back?
My practice has been much more internal the past year after an injury and I realized the importance of intent but I'm having trouble turning it off in sparring and people are getting mad at me for it.
Is it possible I'm succumbing to my fears and anger which makes my intent to cause harm greater and that's manifested in my attacks now?

6 AnswersYahoo Answers8 years agowhat are your thoughts on training outside of the gym/school/dojo/kwoon/dojang?
I noticed not enough people train outside their school and I also noticed many say they can't find good people from their style outside of the school so would it be wrong for them to train with people from other styles as long as the other person is good?
I mean a good martial artist is a good martial artist am I wrong?
What would you suggest for people to do to train when they aren't in class and they still want to practice?
Personally I've always just trained with good people from any random style as long as they are good enough to actually train with and I'm not teaching them everything as we go along.
10 AnswersMartial Arts8 years agoIs this the 1st Spear in wrestling from 1989 by brian pillman against lex luger?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lz0KluG-xJY&t=4m19s
I thought goldberg, mongo mcmicheals or rhino invented it but here's a video of pillman hitting luger with a spear way before they even started wrestling.
funny thing too pillman, goldberg & rhino all played football which make's sense why it looks like a football tackle, because it basically is lol

8 AnswersWrestling8 years agowhy do people say bjj is just a sport? the same can be said about karate, taekwondo & judo too?
Karate, Taekwondo & Judo have sports just like Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
But Brazilian Jiu Jitsu also teaches strikes and weapons defence to be used in self-defence so is it just a sport still?
Because if it is then Karate, Taekwondo & Judo are noting but sports either and all the people who say bjj is just a sport are hypocrites who must do nothing but a punching & kicking sport themselves.
