The Patriot Act allows the US government to essentially spy on citizens it suspects of terrorism, and only in a limited capacity.

The Enabling Act basically turned the Reichstag into a rubber stamp committee with a fancy building, and suppressed anything remotely anti Nazi.

And don't forget, Obama extended the Patriot Act.

(Just in case you thought it was all Bush)

(Not that I have a problem with it, if you've got nothing to hide you've got nothing to fear)

Bush and the patriot act hasn't harmed me or my household in any respect. Hitler and the enabling act resulted in my grandparents being sent to a nazi slave camp. Beautiful significant difference.

The patriot act was written during the Clinton administration. And was renewed during Obama's first term. Funny how the democrats that were against it when enacted after 9-11 had no problem with it when a democrat got into office.

Hardly anything. I don't think the Patriot Act would have been passed if it was called "Repeal the 4th Amendment Act". The Patriot Act is the biggest slap in face to the Constitution that has ever been passed. I get sick just thinking about it.

It is no longer Bush's Patriot Act, it now belongs to Obama, did you forget that he has extended and now owns it or don't you like to think about that?
