How do I fix my golf club shaft?

My putter's shaft has paint chipping off of it and I was wondering if anyone knew of a way that I could repair it. I would like for the way to be cost effective and good looking. I have a photobucket link so you can see how bad the damage is. The shaft is a stiff Titanium/Magnesium Alloy made by Acculite. Thanks

If that's a steel shaft, i'd recommend just taking some sand paper to it and sanding it smooth. it doesn't have to all be off,it should just be smooth. once you have that done, make sure you wipe it down with a damp cloth and make sure it's free of dust. then when it's dry, mask off the handle and he head (masking, or electrical tape can both work for this, as well as using plastic wrap for the head and handle so you're not taping everything up). Spray with even coats of your desired color in a krylon or rustoleum paint. Make sure you shake it and let it fully dry in between. A light sanding in between coats with 500-1000 grit sand paper will help keep it smooth. the key is smooth thin coats to build up the color without adding thickness and having the paint run. these shafts are normally powder coated to begin with but there's no sense in doing that for a putter.

Other ways are just to sand it down so it's smooth and then get something like a shaft wrap.
