i am 26 i been having a pain in my right breast that hurts really bad my dr said i need to go for a mammogram my grandma died of breast cancer. i am scared

I am sorry you are scared! Please take a deep breath,calm down-worry will get you no where.I had my first mammogram last year,I am 35.It was a bit un comfortable because I have lumpy spots in my breasts(fibrocystitis) This could be your problem as well.Do your breasts feel lumpy? Are they really sore at your period-and do you drink lot of caffeine? Caffeine and stress can cause breast pain.The mammogram may be a bit uncomfortable,but at least then you will know what the cause of the pain is.It could be a fluid filled cyst that can be drained,or the problem I have.Prayers sent up that it is not cancer!
