Vegans: how do you eat your cereal?

Ok, so my mother is a vegan and she is trying to make us get rid of dairy.. I agree with her and her reasons for it.. My only thing is I don't know what else to put in my cereal. What do you put in yours?

You could try soy, coconut, almond, rice or hemp milk and see which you prefer. These are now available in most supermarkets in the UHT milk section and there is soften an organic option too. You could also try using soya yogurts from the refrigerated section.

If I have run out of milk, I usually make porridge with water and then add fruit/seeds for the extra nutrition. My granddad doesn't like milk and uses warm tea on his cereal.... worth a try if that takes your fancy!!

by using fact that I even have been a Vegan, or maybe before that by using fact milk did no longer consider me, I even have used Almond or Soy Milk in my cereal. Coconut or Rice milk are different concepts too. in my view Almond Milk is my well-known. i admire the flavor and consistency of it. no longer the undeniable ones although. Any of those milks listed above i like superb in Vanilla.

I'm not a vegan, but I just eat cereal on it's own. Never liked it with milk. Try that?

  • You could always use Almond, Soy, or Coconut milk. All of which are dairy free, I use Almond milk for cereal and I eat soy yogurts.

I avoid grain foods personally (for going on 27 years now, especially all wheat/rye/barley foods), but the healthiest non-dairy milks are unsweetened coconut and almond milk (mixing them together rocks). Since I rarely consume processed non-whole foods, I don't even drink those very much.

I also avoid soy products (and thus soy milk) for the same reason I avoid grain foods...they do as much harm to health overall, as they provide any nutritional value, and they are always better substituted out with healthier alternatives.

I usually use Blue Diamond Almond Breeze ( http://www.bluediamond.com/index.cfm?navid=33 ) for my cereal.
