Is this pregnancy pain normal?
I've had some pain with my pregnancy for the last couple of weeks...since week 23. I am pretty sure that it is just ligament pain, but my mother is freaking out. The pain is often on the sides of my bump - where the ligaments are - but can be across the top or bottom of my bump. I am okay as long as I am sitting down or standing still. If I am walking I am in pain. If I walk a lot, the pain really increases. I had two good days last week with very little pain, and then washed a bunch of dishes. That set the pain off again. If I do too much and then sit for awhile, I have to walk hunched over for a bit because the pain is so bad that I can't stand up straight.
Does this sound familiar to anyone? I have a doctor's appointment on Thursday, but my mother is trying to insist that I go to the ER - ridiculous.

Youre mother is right. It is better to get checked out Nurses and Doctors are used to nervous mothers and are happy to reassure you than something be terribly wrong. They will check you out and tell you whether or not your fine or that your in preterm labor and no more heavy lifting

Sounds like round ligament pain to me..we just learned about it today in my prenatal class and what you are describing sounds just like she described it.
As long as you are sure it's not early contractions, I think you'll be fine.

it sounds like its normal, i get it all the time and have been for like a month, im due in 3 days. i wouldn't necessarily rush to the ER id probably call your nurse or midwife and ask, and if they say that's odd then go in.

call you dr office, im sure they have a emergency nurse on call and ask them whats going on, or they may have the dr whom is on call for the night to call you back. if your dr office is like mine it will go straight to the hospital after hours to the maternity ward.
