UK - What did you think of Titanic on ITV, Sunday?

This new, 4-part, drama of Titanic which started on Sunday evening on ITV 1 - what's your opinion?

I watched it and have to say, I was disappointed. Within the hours episode, they had boarded the ship, 4 days has passed, they struck the iceberg and they are loading the lifeboats. There was no atmosphere to it at all.

I shall probably watch the next episode, to give it another chance, but I hope it improves.

I watched 'Homeland' on at the same time on C4. Brilliant series! I watched Titanic last night on ITV Player and I didn't particularly like it. I've seen Titanic numerous times, and watched the numerous documentaries on it. I'm fed up with it now. Why do they choose to do a series on it, when the Titanic subject has already been done? Can't they think of anything else?!

If you continue watching all you will see are people fighting for their lives and the ship sinking...

Did not and will not watch this...

when i saw a bit of it while flicking through the channels it looked like a set and not a real ship..

1500 people died on this ship because of what where criminal acts, such has ignoring 7 ice burg warnings and speeding to break the atlantic crossing time and not having more lifeboats on the liner...

they should have had 32 but only had 16 or 20, and this would have saved more people

They believe that because it was 100 years ago no one cares anymore...well i do...

This Class ridden-liner should never have been allowed to take to the sea.....

I'll watch it and hopes it improves. I was a little disappointed seeing as Julian Fellowes' Downton Abbey was extremely good. Trouble is I don't think anything will top James Cameron's Titanic film and a TV film can't have the same impact and will be compared over and over with the film. I can't wait for it to come to the cinemas in 3D and will be going to see it as soon as possible. As it's the 100th anniversary, I suppose a lot of people are interested in it, so no wonder Julian Fellowes tried to make a good TV production. Apparently he is focusing more on the human element than on the actual sinking, so lets hope it picks up a bit.

I think perhaps we have been overloaded with Titanic programmes and films, now you have the film on 3D. I watched it and in a way its good as they have focused more on the second class passengers than the upper crust and the two lovers.
