Is the price of a UK passport going up in price to £300 in October 2017?
I have been told that the price has always been subsidised but that will stop in October 2017 and the price is hiking up to £300. Surely not??

I have been told that up until now the cost has been subsidised, but not after October 2017. Is this true?

My hubby, a builder, has been asked to repair the treads on an external staircase. He has done this before using a mixture of sand, cement and granite. However, someone has told him he should put epoxy resin through the mix.
He doesn't think this is right. Do you know if epoxy resin can be mixed through with sand and cement?
3 AnswersDo It Yourself (DIY)7 years agoHas anyone recovered PPI insurance?
This question is for United Kingdom only.
Has anyone recovered PPI insurance and, if so, how long did it take?
We put in a claim to Bank of Scotland, which they rejected then we sent all the relevant paperwork to the Financial Ombudsman 2 YEARS AGO. My hubby got a loan from BOS for a new van for his builder's business. He was told, as he was over 50 years old, that he wouldn't get the loan unless he took out this insurance.
We have since read an article in a newspaper that self-employed people should never have been sold PPI, as they were not eligible to make a claim. So, we were obviously mis-sold the insurance.
All these adverts from companies saying they will reclaim the insurance for you and you don't need any paperwork - we have every piece of paperwork regarding the insurance and sent copies to the Financial Ombudsman. 2 years seems a long time. Is anyone waiting longer?
7 AnswersInsurance7 years agoWhat is the best mobile internet server in Norfolk?
Hubby and I will be hiring a boat on the Norfolk Broads soon. He wants to take the laptop and buy a dongle to use it to get an internet signal on the boat. We would only need the dongle for two weeks holiday so don't want to spend a fortune on one.
PC World tried to sell us a Three dongle, which they said had good reception in Norfolk, but a few friends say that Three is rubbish.
Can anyone recommend which server to use?
4 AnswersOther - Internet7 years agoHas anyone used Multipanel or Wetwall ?
In the bathroom - we are going to put Multipanel on the walls. It's not a huge bathroom and the boards are 8ft x 4ft. We are wondering how we are going to get them upstairs and into the bathroom. I know you can cut the boards but that would mean having more joints.
Has anyone used these boards and did you have any problems?
1 AnswerDecorating & Remodeling7 years agoHave you ever queued at Boxing Day sales?
If so, what did you want to buy, did you get it and was it worth the queing for?
Looking at the news of hundreds of people queuing for hours, then pushing and shoving others out of their way to grab a bargain. What a nightmare. I have never wanted anything that much that I would even consider standing in a queue for it. I feel sorry for the poor shop assistants.
18 AnswersSenior Citizens7 years agoHow do I use my Kindle abroad?
Please excuse my ignorance and this may sound like a daft question. My husband and I (both 63) both got a Kindle from our daughter at Christmas. We holiday in Lanzarote and usually take loads of books, which adds to our travel weight.
Can we use our Kindles in Lanzarote, lying by the side of the pool? We will need a wifi connection, won't we? I know the reception area at the complex we holiday at has 2 computers for holidaymaker's use. Will we have to pay them to get a connection?

There was an episode on Christmas Eve and another on Boxing Day. I thought the episode on Boxing Day was absolutely hilarious, with Mrs Brown doing the nativity play. I was aching with laughing at it.
9 AnswersComedy8 years agoWho's been watching Last Tango In Halifax?
I have thoroughly enjoyed this programme and am happy to see they have commissioned another series. Anything with Ann Reid in it has to be good and I love that there has been underlying stories with the rest of the families. I think Sarah Lancashire has been brilliant in her part too.
5 AnswersDrama8 years agoHas anyone watched Citizen Khan?
A new comedy started on BBC 1 on Monday 10.20pm. It's set in Birmingham about a Pakistani family. I hear on the news that the BBC received 200 complaints about it, saying it was racist and mocking muslims.
I watched it and am still making my mind up about it. I didn't think it was particularly funny but I might give it another try and see if it improves.
What did you think of it?
4 AnswersComedy9 years agoHas anyone got a Fiat 500 1.2 POP?
If so, what is your opinion on it - good or bad? My daughter is thinking of changing her car soon. A friend of hers has a Fiat 500 POP and she seems to like it. I've had a look at one and think they look cheap and plasticky inside.
2 AnswersFiat9 years agoWhat are you going to spend your pension rise on?
On checking our bank statement online this morning, I see my weekly state pension is up by £6.41. I am going to have to think of all the things I can buy with it.
I read in the newspapers that people age 80 will be getting an increase of 25pence a week. Are you going to treat yourself or will it be used towards the gas and electric bills?
17 AnswersSenior Citizens9 years agoWhat kind of things have been brought to you in hospital?
If you have been unlucky enough to have been a patient in hospital, what kind of things have your relatives brought in to you, other than a bunch of grapes?
The only time in my life I have been a patient was when I was having our daughter, 33 years ago. Back then, they kept you in bed for at least a week. My hubby arrived one visiting time with a bag filled with papers. He has a builders business and back then employed 4 men and I did the wages. So he brought all the tax tables, NIC tables etc for me to work out the mens wages. I wouldn't have minded, but he didn't even have a bunch of grapes with him.
21 AnswersSenior Citizens9 years agoUK - What did you think of Titanic on ITV, Sunday?
This new, 4-part, drama of Titanic which started on Sunday evening on ITV 1 - what's your opinion?
I watched it and have to say, I was disappointed. Within the hours episode, they had boarded the ship, 4 days has passed, they struck the iceberg and they are loading the lifeboats. There was no atmosphere to it at all.
I shall probably watch the next episode, to give it another chance, but I hope it improves.
10 AnswersDrama9 years agoHave you ever forgotten to put your clock forward/back?
With us having to put our clocks forward 1 hour this weekend, have you ever forgotten to do it, and if so did anything happen because you forgot?
Many years ago, my aunt was walking to church on the Sunday morning dressed in her Sunday best. She said later that she did wonder how she didn't see anyone else walking to church. She arrived at the church door to be met by all the congregation coming out. She had forgot to put her clock forward an hour. She didn't half feel a fool, ha ha.
