Has anyone watched Citizen Khan?
A new comedy started on BBC 1 on Monday 10.20pm. It's set in Birmingham about a Pakistani family. I hear on the news that the BBC received 200 complaints about it, saying it was racist and mocking muslims.
I watched it and am still making my mind up about it. I didn't think it was particularly funny but I might give it another try and see if it improves.
What did you think of it?

For starters it isn't racist because the man who wrote it is a muslim itself. And secondly, while I think it wasn't as funny as the advert made it seem it was really enjoyable, and I will watch the rest of the series.

Forgot all about it. Think I saw a trailer of it and didn't think it was as funny as the Kumas. I heard about the complaints. 200 out of how many viewers which was probably in 1.000's ?? You'd think they'd have better things to do. My way of thinking, if you don't like a program or find it offensive, you have an "off" button on the TV or you are perfectly free to watch something else.

I found it quite funny. Not rush out and buy the dvd type funny. A spokes "person" for the muslim "community", said it was nice to see muslims portrayed as something other than just shouting in outrage about some supposed slight.

Citizen khan portrays a bad image if islam and also disrespects it.
