What are good excuses for a day-off from work?
hi, I just got an invitation for an exam at a company tomorrow morning and it cannot be rescheduled to another day. I don't feel comfortable about taking a leave from my present job, let alone making-up excuses. My exam is tomorrow and I would really like to give it a shot. Any suggestions for a good excuse?
Also, wouldn't my current employer feel mad if I got the job and suddenly resign from work? Is there a possibility that they would realize that what I was up to while I was on leave?
PS: Ive been on leave twice for the past month due to valid reasons, I sure hope it would not make things look suspicious

Do you have a male boss? If so, tell him you're having terrible trouble with your 'monthlies'. He will run a mile and not ask any further questions.
If your boss is female, tell her you have a family emergency and need time off. Don't elaborate further. She'll understand.
PS: don't worry about feeling 'uncomfortable'. One day they will get rid of you - redundancy, redeployment, retirement, whatever. You've got to look after yourself in the employment jungle so don't feel guilty about it.

They they may look at it like that but you need the day off so you could say that your mom had an allergic reaction to medication she is on, you are having car problems, you have food poisoning.

tell your boss you are sp everaly sick you are puking from your eyeballs no but seriously- say that you are horribly sick, or that you have to go take care of a sick relative
