Algebra Perimeter Question?

This is the question as follows.

"1. The perimeter of the following trapezoid is 177m. Find the length of each side.

(I cant draw the trapezoid so I'll just put side 1, 2 ect)

Sides:

1. 2(x - 4)

2. 3x + 1

3. 11x

4. 4(10 + 2x)"

I know the answer is 6 (many people have told me so) but no one has told me how that answer was gotten I know its something along the lines of "2(x - 4) + 4(10 + 2x) + 11x + 3x + 1 = 117" Is were you start then just go until you get x, then replace the x's for the sides to get that sides actual length, or something like that i just cant get the math right...

Thank you in advance

    Just add up the sides and set the sum equal to 177 m. Then solve for x.

    2x-8+3x+1+11x+8x+40=177

    19x=177-33=144

    x=7.58
